Based on experience of working with former child soldiers, this paper
argues the need for a strategy of prevention as the best way to avoid
children being affected by armed conflict, including greater
investment in peace-building initiatives and tightening the supply of
small armed. It also calls for a strategy of protection and care for
dealing with chidlren already embroiled in armed conflict.
