BackgroundFormed in 2003, the subgroup draws particularly on articles 3, 6, 23, 24 and 25, as well as 32, 33 and 34 of the CRC. It also reposes on the CRC General Comments on (i) Adolescent Health and Development and (ii) HIV/AIDS, as well as on the General Comment on Health developed by the Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights. Finally, it centres on the 2000 Millenium Develpoment Goals and the 2002 A world fit for children (UNGASS-2002) which highlight health issues, particularly where children are concerned.
