CANADA: Making Children's Rights Work: National and International Perspectives [conference]

NEW ZEALAND: Celebratory Meeting for the 15th Anniversary of the Convention [meeting]

SOUTH AFRICA: 4th World Congress on Family Law and Children's Rights [congress]

The World Congress on Family Law and Children's Rights has become a significant international meeting of family law and other legal practitioners, jurists, academics, human rights advocates and associated professionals including those in the health and caring professions and others with a common concern for the protection of these children and the promotion and protection of their universally acknowledged and fundamental human rights. This 4th World Congress will review key emerging issues, policies and practices that impact on the administration of justice in the family law area and on the rights of children and youth.


SWITZERLAND: The Rights Based Approach to International Cooperation: A Child Rights Perspective [symposium]

WORLDWIDE: Cross-Topic Special Children's Well-Being [web portal]

The special topic consists of a short introduction, an interview of an expert in the field, and a section of 'partners', which will include the Child Rights Information Network. The site will feature events organised around Universal Children's Day, the 15th anniversary of the Convention on the Rights of the Child and World AIDS Day.

A discussion forum on the rights of the child, themed: ‘How can governments best promote their commitments to the protection of the rights of children from violence, abuse and neglect?’


WORLWIDE: World Day for Prevention of Child Abuse 2004 [annual event]

To make the Day a global call for action, WWSF launched in 2001 an international NGO coalition that marks the World Day with appropriate events and activities to focus on and increase prevention education.
