National Child’s Rights Coalitions
The Working Group on National Coalitions supports the Secretariat's work with the national child rights coalitions to monitor and advocate for the full implementation of the CRC. Its main activity is to organise NGO forums during the pre-sessions to provide NGOs with an opportunity to share their experiences in reporting and following up the Committee’s recommendations. It also informs them of new opportunities with other relevant UN-mechanisms.
Survey
Since the adoption of the CRC, more than 100 national child's rights coalitions have been formed across the world. Please fill in an online survey in order for the Working Group to learn more about the activities and impact of national coalitions.
Case Studies
Several times per year, a case study of a national child's rights coalition is featured. The current case study is the Children's Rights Alliance for England (CRAE), a coalition of more than 380 voluntary and statutory organisations committed to the full implementation of the CRC in England.

Impact of Concluding Observations
While national coalitions have a tendency to be formed for the purpose of preparing alternative reports, the Working Group tries to galvanise them into continuing their collaboration between reporting periods, notably through active use of the concluding observations. The Working Group has collected information describing how national coalitions publicise the concluding observations in their country and monitor the implementation of these recommendations.
National coalitions should send their experiences, best practices and challenges to the Secretariat, so that this information can be shared on the NGO Group website.
National Coalition Forums
During each CRC pre-session week, a forum is organized for national coalitions visiting Geneva and NGO Group members. These meetings provide national coalitions with a platform to exchange information and understand how other networks resolve similar challenges; to obtain information on the broader human rights system; and to receive support for following-up the reporting process and the implementation of the Committee’s recommendations.
